Food and Wine
Our hills are covered with beautiful olive groves that produce an excellent Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and vineyards that give origin to fine and world-famous wines. The poverty of our mountains was mitigated by the wealth of what was once called the red gold, that is saffron, imported by some monks in the 13th century and then exported from the Navelli Plateau to the wealthy imperial Germany. Art and Wine in Abruzzo
The province of Teramo, cradle of delicious dishes and land of fine wines. Savoury but light dishes, that go well with high-quality wines: Montepulciano, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo and Cerasuolo. Coming to the province of Teramo and not tasting its cuisine and its wines is like going to Rome and miss the Colosseum!!
The road of pasta
The ancient tradition of pasta makers of our region reaches its top level in the valley of the Verde River, in Fara S. Martino, at the foot of the Maiella Mountain. The clear water, with shades of green, flows out from the rock at a temperature of 8° C, and is the first natural ingredient that allows an excellent and inimitable production of pasta.
